Assembly Notes
Inspect the internal gear (10). If replacement is required,
remove the gear using a slide hammer with hook.
Required Materials

Loctite
242 (Blue) Thread Sealant
• Install new oil seals (13 and 15).
• Install a new grease seal (2).

• Apply Loctite
242 (Blue) Thread Sealant to the
threads of the socket-head screw (17).

• If installing a new internal gear:
— Press the gear (10) into the housing.
— Drill three new holes, equally spaced around the
circumference of the gear, to install new groove
pins (11). The holes should be positioned so that
the pins engage both the chain case housing and
the internal gear equally. Drill the holes only
deep enough to seat the pins. Do not drill
completely through the housing, as oil leakage
will result.
— Apply lithium grease NLGI Grade 2 to grease
fitting (6) after installation is complete.
