Measure the resistance between the third pin of the attachment plug and any exposed metal parts on
the SafeLock Cart. The Ground wire resistance should be less than 0.2 Ohms. Refer to the procedure
in the IEC 601-1.1.

ACCESSIBLE METAL PARTS
such as:
a) Potential Equalization Connector
b) Rear Panel Connector
c) Any Caster/Wheel support
d) Any accessible metal screws on rear side of cart

Ground Continuity Testing - Generic Procedure
NOTE:
Follow the steps below to test the Ground wire resistance. If the test passes, there is no safety risk.
However, the input power cable should be tested with a substitute Safety Tester.
1.) Connect one of the Ohmmeter probes to the tested AC wall outlet cable side (Ground pin).
2.) Using the other Ohmmeter probe, touch the exposed metal part of the SafeLock Cart.
3) Set the meter Function switch to the Resistance position.
4) Measure and record the Ground wire resistance.
This should be less than 0.2 Ohms.
NOTE:
Since very low resistance is measured, the Ohmmeter probe resistance should be subtracted from the
reading.
