Improper Operations During Initial Startup Procedure: Fault 21.0
Abbott VP 2000™ Processor Service Manual
30-608308/R1—September 2008
1. Power OFF, top cover removed.
2. Check that the X-Drive Belt is in position and not twisted.
3. Manually check that there is no restrictions, binding or
jamming, in the movement of the X/Y Table Assembly. If
this test fails then proceed to inspect the X-Motor and
Idler Pulley for proper operation.
4. Check that there are no obstructions, broken
photo-sensors or bent flags on the X/Y Table Assembly, in
the X-Sensor Board Photo-Sensors.
5. Turn power ON and watch for proper movement of the
Robotic Arm in the X direction.
The Robotic Arm will not move if the Hoods are not
installed for this test and the Fail Alarm will sound with a
short beep.
With the Hoods installed, the Robotic Arm should move
to the right and stop in the center of the instrument. The
the Robotic Arm moves off the front sensor and returns to
the sensor front position.
The Robotic Arm should then move left back to the Home
Position over the Dryer position. If this step fails, replace
the X-Sensor Board. If replacing the X-Sensor Board does
not resolve the problem, replace the Computer Control
Board.
