Purpose of This Section Purpose of This Section This section provides information necessary to resume operation of the Abbott VP 2000 Processor after a physical problem has occurred that cannot be eliminated by the operator. Before performing any troubleshooting refer to Section 2, Safety for instrument and non-instrument hazards and safety measures.
  • Page 148: Observed Problems

Observed Problems The following section contains general information on observed problems for the Abbott VP 2000 Processor, as well as a series of possible troubleshooting steps to resolve each problem. For a complete list of observed problems, refer to the Abbott VP 2000 Processor User Guide, Section 7, Troubleshooting and Diagnostics.
  • Page 149: Fault Diagnostics

General Techniques Know the Unit Determining the source of a malfunction almost always requires an understanding of the architecture of the Abbott VP 2000 Processor. The Field Service Representative must read and thoroughly understand the Abbott VP 2000 User Guide and Abbott VP 2000 Processor Service Manual.
  • Page 150 Section 6 Try Again Despite considerable power conditioning circuitry in the Abbott VP 2000 Processor, occasionally major power source transients can cause temporary malfunctions, as with any computer based equipment. Failures that appear to be software related, such as a program stopping, may be due to a power interruption.
  • Page 151: Built In Test

    • The movement front to back checks the Z-Motor operation. Use the companion PC to help troubleshoot an Abbott VP 2000 Processor. The proprietary software provided on the PC is helpful in evaluating the operation of the motors, sensors, drying station and heated basin temperature status.
