a. At the BB_Credit field, type a value between 1 and 60 buffers. Default value is 16.
b. Resources allocated to a connection with detected errors are not released for reuse
until the R_A_TOV expires. At the R_A_TOV field, type a value between 10 and
1200 tenths of a second (one through 120 seconds). The default value is 100.
c. An error is reported if a device does not respond within the E_D_TOV specified.
At the E_D_TOV field, type a value between 2 and 600 tenths of a second (0.2
through 60 seconds). The default value is 20.
NOTE: All fabric-attached Directors and switches must be set to the same
E_D_TOV
operating values. If the values are incompatible, the E_Port connection to the
Director segments and the Director cannot communicate with the fabric. In addition, the
R_A_TOV must be greater than the E_D_TOV. Compaq recommends that you obtain assistance
from the Professional Services Organization prior to changing the default values.
d. At the Preferred Domain ID field, type a value between 1 and 31 (default is 1). The
domain ID uniquely identifies each Director or switch in a fabric.
NOTE: All fabric-attached Directors and switches must have unique domain IDs. If the value is
not unique, the E_Port connection to the Director segments and the Director cannot
communicate with the fabric.
e. At the Switch Priority field, select Principal, Never Principal, or Default (the
default setting is Default.) The switch priority value designates the fabric's
principal switch. The principal switch is assigned a priority of 1 and controls the
allocation and distribution of domain IDs for all fabric directors and switches.
