Record or Verify SDCM Server Restore
Information
Configuration information must be recorded to restore the SDCM Server in case of hard
drive failure. The Windows NT operating system and the applications must also be
restored. Use these steps to record or verify SDCM Server configuration information.
1. Verify that the following network configuration information is recorded.
a. Default computer name SDCMSERVER or changed computer name is recorded.
b. Default or changed network addresses are recorded for the the NIC installed in the
server:
c. DNS Server IP address is recorded.
2. Verify that the following date and time information is recorded.
a. Time zone
b. Daylight savings time setting, if appropriate
3. Verify that user information is recorded.
a. Verify that all new user information (name, description, checkbox selections) is
recorded from the New User dialog box.
b. Verify that all changed user information (name, description, checkbox selections)
is recorded from the User Properties dialog box.
4. Record the Product ID number as follows:
a. Minimize the Product View panel to view the Windows NT desktop.
b. At the Windows NT desktop, click the Start button at the left side of the task bar
(bottom of the desktop), then select Settings > Control Panel. The Control Panel
window displays.
c. At the Control Panel window, double-click the System icon. The System Properties
window displays with the General page open. Record the Product ID number listed
under the "Registered to:" heading.
d. Click the Cancel button to close the System Properties window.
e. Click the close button (X) at the upper right corner of the Control Panel window
and return to the Windows NT desktop.
IP address—preset factory default is 10.1.1.2
Subnet mask—default is 255.0.0.0
Gateway address—default is blank
