7-1 Installing the Main Unit

If the main part of the SPF is con-
nected directly to a collator, install
the IFU-200 Infeed Conveyor.
1. Remove the rear cover on the SPF main unit
and the rear cover on the IFU-200.
2. Hook the IFU-200 in place on the SPF main
unit.
3. Attach the drive belt.
Normally, the tension pulley is not used.
Apply tension only if the belt slips on the
pulley.
4. Attach the bottom of the infeed conveyor to
the main unit.
5. Attach the covers you removed earlier.
6. Connect the connector for the infeed con-
veyor to the main unit.

Install the SPF main unit in a good
location
- The space requirements are listed in Section
9-1-1.

Place a mounting plate under each
leveling bolt and turn the leveling
bolt to lift the main unit up.
- Lift the main unit so that all the casters have a
space of 2 to 3 mm (0.08" to 0.12") to the floor.

Level the SPF main unit.
- Place a torpedo level on the point shown in
the figure to the right to check the level.

Check the level in both direc-
tions. If the frame is bent, the
top and bottom guides may not
be parallel, and this can affect
the binding quality.
