For Safe Operation
l Maintenance
• To prevent electric shocks during maintenance, always turn the main power switch off, and remove the
power plug. Depending on the device, the condenser may require one minute to discharge. After turning
the main power switch off and removing the power plug, wait three minutes before working.
• Never touch the areas around where high temperature caution plaques are affixed. Otherwise, you may
burn yourself. If you need to touch the high temperature area, wear heat-insulating gloves to protect your
hands.
• When cleaning the head, wiper or cap, be sure to wear the included safety glasses and gloves.
• Using this machine around water increases the chances of short circuiting. Avoid use in areas with water.
A short circuit may result in the operator getting electrocuted or cause a fire.
• After many years of use, dirt and dust may accumulate in the conductive parts and insulated parts of the
device, resulting in electricity leak. Clean such parts periodically.
• Do not spray compressed air on the machine. This can cause dirt and dust to scatter and penetrate the
conductive parts, leading to malfunction. Always use a vacuum cleaner to suck up the dirt and dust.
• To prevent accidents, make sure to preform regular inspections and replacement of the parts that need to
be replaced periodically.
• This machine has parts that need regular replacement. We recommend you to get a maintenance contract.
• After many years of use, dirt and dust may accumulate in the stabilizers and other used parts, increasing
the risk of ignition or smoke due to short circuits or deteriorated insulation. Please clean such parts
periodically and replace the parts determined to be deteriorated by the insulation resistance test
• After many years of use, the screws of the conductive parts may loosen, increasing the risk of ignition or
smoke. Please tighten them periodically.

Installation Precautions

When installing this machine, take the following precautions.
• This machine should be installed in a dedicated private room, in a location where it can be reliably isolated
by physical means such as an enclosure. The isolated area should be set up so that no one can easily
reach the printer and ink supply unit.
• This isolated area should be prohibited for everyone except the trainees of our safety education program
or those who have been trained by such a trainee.
If an untrained person enters the restricted area while the machine is in operation, there is a risk of
accidental contact with the Y-bar that is in the process of printing, resulting in injury.
• This machine should only be operated by the trainees of our safety education program or those who have
been trained by such a trainee.
• Use the machine under the following environmental conditions.
Operating environment: 15 to 30˚C (59 to 86˚F) 35 to 65% Rh (without condensation)
Accuracy assurance temperature: 18 to 25°C (64.4 to 77°F)
