SBC Capacity Licenses from Fixed License Pool

The device can receive SBC capacity (session) licenses from a centralized pool of SBC resources
managed by AudioCodes One Voice Operations Center (OVOC) management tool. The license
pool is purchased as one bulk license. The OVOC user can then manually allocate SBC licenses
from the pool to devices in the network to meet capacity demands of each device whenever
required. The OVOC user can also de-allocate licenses previously allocated from the pool to
devices.
The OVOC license pool holds a pool of customer-ordered SBC capacity (resource) licenses, which
includes any of the following license types:
■ SBC Sessions (media and signaling)
■ SBC Signaling Sessions
■ SBC Transcoding Sessions
■ SBC Far End Users (FEU) - SBC registrations (number of SIP endpoints that can register with
the SBC)
The device can be upgraded by the license pool with any of the above SBC license types.
If the device has received licenses from OVOC's license pool, the License Key page indicates this
by displaying "License Pool" in the 'Mode' field (see

group:
The number of sessions received from the OVOC license pool are displayed under the "Remote"
column while the sessions from the locally installed License Key are displayed under the "Local"
column. The "Actual" column displays the total sessions, which is the summation of the remote
and local sessions. However, the total sessions is only updated once the remote license is applied
to the device with a reset (initiated by the OVOC license pool or locally on the device by the
management user).
Communication between the device and OVOC is through HTTPS (port 443) and SNMP. If a
firewall exists in the network, make sure that ports for these applications are opened. The
connectivity status with OVOC is displayed in the top section of the License Key page, as shown in
the example below:
■ OVOC Product Key: Product Key of the OVOC tool that is providing the Fixed License Pool.
■ Mode: "License Pool"
■ License Server Status: Connectivity status with OVOC. For more information, see
the License Key on page 927.
