Calibrate Ground Bond Resistance Function in HIPOT
Testers
Use the 4-wire Ground Bond resistance mode to calibrate ground bond
resistance testers that have a four-terminal connection.
Typical application is calibration of HIPOT testers and dedicated ground bond
testers.
To avoid possible damage to the Product, ensure DUT test
current does not exceed maximum allowed current for the test
being performed. See the Specifications document at
www.Flukecal.com
To perform a Ground Bond Resistance calibration in the 4-wire Ground Bond
resistance mode:
1. Push .
2. Connect the Product as shown in Figure 43.
3. Push the MODE softkey, then using the cursor keys or rotary knob, highlight
Resistance 4W and select it by pushing the Select softkey or pushing in the
rotary knob.
4. Select the Nominal resistance by pushing the Nom R softkey until the desired
resistance is shown in the Parameters display area.
5. Set the Product to low current or high current mode using Product softkey
depending upon the DUT setting.
6. Push .
7. Start the DUT test. The Product INPUT display shows the actual value of the
nominal resistance (R0 – R 5) in red while the DUT is measuring. At the end
of the test, the INPUT display turns black. Match that reading against the last
reading on the DUT.
8. Push  and disconnect the DUT from the Product.
9. Use either low current or high current mode depending upon the tester
setting.
