Operators Manual
Separate loop and line residual impedance correction values are stored in the
Product using the methods in this section.
To select the residual impedance correction mode:
1. Push the Setup softkey.
2. Select either Loop Impedance or Line Impedance.
3. Using the cursor keys or rotary knob, highlight Line imp. compensation (or
4. Using the cursor keys or rotary knob, highlight OFF, MAN, SCAN or COMP,
5. Push the Exit softkey repeatedly to return to the main screen.

With the DUT, check an actual mains circuit first before
connecting the DUT to the Product to ensure that the
DUT is working properly.
Do not exceed the maximum levels of test current,
including spikes and time period when using the
compensator. The limits are defined in the
Specifications found at www.Flukecal.com.
Though the compensator has hardware and firmware
protection, it is not fully protected against fast, high-
level current spikes. The spikes can arise especially
when a DUT is damaged, for example, if the DUT's input
terminals are internally shorted.
For DUTs in an unknown condition and with a risk of
having failed, for example, with internally shorted
terminals, do not use the COMP mode. Damage to the
Product may result. The SCAN mode can be used to see
that the DUT readings give the expected results.

Select softkey or push in the rotary knob.
and then push the Select softkey or push in the rotary knob.
OFF – No compensation is used.
MAN – Adds the user defined residual impedance to the selected resistor.
SCAN – Measures the residual impedance and adds it to the selected
resistor value.
COMP – Measures the value and electronically subtracts out this residual
impedance by inserting a negative resistance at the input.
