This  page  provides  a  status  overview  of  all  LLDP-­‐MED  neighbors.  The  displayed  table  contains  a  row  
for   each   port   on   which   an   LLDP   neighbor   is   detected.   This   function   applies   to   VoIP   devices   that  
support   L LDP-­‐MED.   T he   c olumns   h old   t he   f ollowing   i nformation:

Device   T ype:  
LLDP-­‐MED  Devices  are  comprised  of  two  primary  Device  Types:  Network  Connectivity  Devices  and  
Endpoint   D evices.    
LLDP-­‐MED   Network   Connectivity   Devices,   as   defined   in   TIA-­‐1057,   provide   access   to   the   IEEE   802  
based   LAN   infrastructure   for   LLDP-­‐MED   Endpoint   Devices.   An   LLDP-­‐MED   Network   Connectivity  
Device   i s   a   L AN   a ccess   d evice   b ased   o n   a ny   o f   t he   f ollowing   t echnologies:  
1.   L AN   S witch/Router  
2.   I EEE   8 02.1   B ridge  
3.   I EEE   8 02.3   R epeater   ( included   f or   h istorical   r easons)  
4.   I EEE   8 02.11   W ireless   A ccess   P oint  
5.   Any   device   that   supports   the   IEEE   802.1AB   and   MED   extensions   defined   by   TIA-­‐1057   and   can  
relay   I EEE   8 02   f rames   v ia   a ny   m ethod.  
LLDP-­‐MED   E ndpoint   D evices,   a s   d efined   i n   T IA-­‐1057,   a re   l ocated   a t   t he   I EEE   8 02   L AN   n etwork   e dge,  
and   p articipate   i n   I P   c ommunication   s ervice   u sing   t he   L LDP-­‐MED   f ramework.  
Within   the   LLDP-­‐MED   Endpoint   Device   category,   the   LLDP-­‐MED   scheme   is   broken   into   further  
Endpoint   D evice   C lasses,   a s   d efined   i n   t he   f ollowing.  
Each   LLDP-­‐MED   Endpoint   Device   Class   is   defined   to   build   upon   the   capabilities   defined   for   the  
previous  Endpoint  Device  Class.  For  example,  any  LLDP-­‐MED  Endpoint  Device  claiming  compliance  
as   a   Media   Endpoint   (Class   II)   will   also   support   all   aspects   of   TIA-­‐1057   applicable   to   Generic
