Only CDP TLVs that can be mapped to a corresponding field in the LLDP neighbors' table are
decoded. All other TLVs are discarded (Unrecognized CDP TLVs and discarded CDP frames are not

CDP T LV " Device I D" i s m apped t o t he L LDP " Chassis I D" f ield.
CDP TLV "Address" is mapped to the LLDP "Management Address" field. The CDP address TLV can
contain m ultiple a ddresses, b ut o nly t he f irst a ddress i s s hown i n t he L LDP n eighbors' t able.
CDP T LV " Port I D" i s m apped t o t he L LDP " Port I D" f ield.
CDP T LV " Version a nd P latform" i s m apped t o t he L LDP " System D escription" f ield.
Both the CDP and LLDP support "system capabilities", but the CDP capabilities cover capabilities
that a re n ot p art o f t he L LDP. T hese c apabilities a re s hown a s " others" i n t he L LDP n eighbors' t able.
If all ports have CDP awareness disabled, the switch forwards CDP frames received from neighbor
devices. If at least one port has CDP awareness enabled all CDP frames are terminated by the
switch.
