2-­‐12.2 L LDP-­‐MED C onfiguration
Media Endpoint Discovery is an enhancement of LLDP, known as LLDP-­‐MED that provides the
following f acilities:
Auto-­‐discovery of LAN policies (such as VLAN, Layer 2 Priority and Differentiated services [Diffserv]
settings) e nabling p lug a nd p lay n etworking.
Device l ocation d iscovery t o a llow c reation o f l ocation d atabases a nd, f or V oice o ver I nternet P rotocol
(VoIP), E nhanced 9 11 s ervices.
Extended a nd a utomated p ower m anagement o f P ower o ver E thernet ( PoE) e nd p oints.
Inventory management, allowing network administrators to track their network devices, and
determine their characteristics (manufacturer, software and hardware versions, serial or asset
number).
This page allows you to configure the LLDP-­‐MED. This function applies to VoIP devices that support
LLDP-­‐MED.
Web I nterface
To c onfigure L LDP-­‐MED:
1. Click L LDP-­‐MED C onfiguration.
2. Modify F ast s tart r epeat c ount p arameter, d efault i s 4 .
3. Modify C oordinates L ocation p arameters.
4. Fill C ivic A ddress L ocation p arameters.
5. Add n ew p olicy.
6. Click A pply t o s how f ollowing P olicy P ort C onfiguration.
7. Select a P olicy I D f or e ach p ort.
8. Click A pply.
