2-­‐19.11 S torm C ontrol
The section explains how to configure the Storm control for the switch. There is a unicast storm rate
control, multicast storm rate control, and a broadcast storm rate control. These only affect flooded
frames, i.e. frames with a (VLAN ID, DMAC) pair not present on the MAC Address table. The
configuration i ndicates t he p ermitted p acket r ate f or u nicast, m ulticast, o r b roadcast t raffic a cross t he
switch.

1. C lick C onfiguration, Q oS, S torm C ontrol C onfiguration.
2. E nable t o s elect t he f rame t ype t o e nable s torm c ontrol.
3. S croll t o s et t he R ate P arameters.
4. C lick S ave t o s ave t he s etting.
5 T o c ancel t he s etting, c lick t he R eset b utton. I t w ill r evert t o p reviously s aved v alues.

Frame T ype:

The settings in a particular row apply to the frame type listed here: Unicast, Multicast, or
Broadcast.
Enable:

Enable o r d isable t he s torm c ontrol s tatus f or t he g iven f rame t ype.
Rate:

The rate unit is packets per second (pps). Valid values are: 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1K,
2K, 4K, 8K, 16K, 32K, 64K, 128K, 256K, 512K or 1024K. , 1024K, 2048K, 4096K, 8192K, 16384K or
32768K. , 1 024K, 2 048K, 4 096K, 8 192K, 1 6384K o r 3 2768K.
