IP C onfiguration
Mode:

Configure whether the IP stack should act as a Host or a Router. In Host mode, IP traffic between
interfaces w ill n ot b e r outed. I n R outer m ode, t raffic i s r outed b etween a ll i nterfaces.
DNS S erver

This setting controls the DNS name resolution done by the switch. The following modes are
supported:
•
From a ny D HCP i nterfaces:
The f irst D NS s erver o ffered f rom a D HCP l ease t o a D HCP-­‐enabled i nterface w ill b e u sed.
•
No D NS s erver:
No D NS s erver w ill b e u sed.
•
Configured:
Explicitly p rovide t he I P a ddress o f t he D NS S erver i n d otted d ecimal n otation.
•
From t his D HCP i nterface :
Specify f rom w hich D HCP-­‐enabled i nterface a p rovided D NS s erver s hould b e p referred.
DNS P roxy

When DNS proxy is enabled, the system will relay DNS requests to the currently configured DNS
server, a nd r eply a s a D NS r esolver t o t he c lient d evices o n t he n etwork.
IP I nterfaces
Delete

Select t his o ption t o d elete a n e xisting I P i nterface.
 VLAN
The VLAN associated with the IP interface. Only ports in this VLAN will be able to access the IP
interface. T his f ield i s o nly a vailable f or i nput w hen c reating a n ew i nterface.
 IPv4 D HCP E nabled
Enable t he D HCP c lient b y c hecking t his b ox. I f t his o ption i s e nabled, t he s ystem w ill c onfigure t he
IPv4 address and mask of the interface using the DHCP protocol. The DHCP client will announce
the c onfigured S ystem N ame a s h ostname t o p rovide D NS l ookup.
IPv4 D HCP F allback T imeout

The n umber o f s econds t hat t he s witch w ill t ry t o o btain a D HCP l ease. A fter t his p eriod e xpires, a
configured I Pv4 a ddress w ill b e u sed a s I Pv4 i nterface a ddress. A v alue o f z ero d isables t he f allback
mechanism, so DHCP will keep trying until a valid lease is obtained. Legal values are 0 to
4294967295 s econds.
IPv4 D HCP C urrent L ease

For DHCP interfaces with an active lease, this column shows the current interface address, as
provided b y t he D HCP s erver.
IPv4 A ddress

The I Pv4 a ddress o f t he i nterface i n d otted d ecimal n otation.




