Basic S ettings
 Protocol V ersion:
The S TP p rotocol v ersion s etting. V alid v alues a re S TP, R STP, a nd M STP.
Bridge P riority:

Controls t he b ridge p riority. L ower n umeric v alues h ave b etter p riority. T he b ridge p riority p lus t he
MSTI instance number, concatenated with the 6-­‐byte MAC address of the switch, forms a Bridge
Identifier. For MSTP operation, this is the priority of the CIST. Otherwise, this is the priority of the
STP/RSTP b ridge.
Forward D elay:

The delay used by STP Bridges to transit Root and Designated Ports to Forwarding (used in STP
compatible m ode). V alid v alues a re i n t he r ange 4 t o 3 0 s econds.
Max A ge:

The maximum age of the information transmitted by the Bridge when it is the Root Bridge. Valid
values a re i n t he r ange 6 t o 4 0 s econds, a nd M axAge m ust b e < = ( FwdDelay-­‐1)*2.
Maximum H op C ount:

This d efines t he i nitial v alue o f r emaining H ops f or M STI i nformation g enerated a t t he b oundary o f
an MSTI region. It defines how many bridges a root bridge can distribute its BPDU information to.
Valid v alues a re i n t he r ange 6 t o 4 0 h ops.
