2.3 Options of media redundancy
Devices which support MRP
The ring topology in which you want to use MRP may only consist of devices that support
this function. This applies, for example, to the following devices:
● Industrial Ethernet switches
– SCALANCE X-200 as of firmware version V4.0
● Communications processors
– CP 443-1 Advanced (6GK7 443-1GX20-0XE0) as of firmware version V2.0
● Non-Siemens devices that support MRP

Remember that in the modular switches the ring ports are located on MM900 media
modules.
