Step 12. Perform any configuration tasks that are required for the adapter.
Step 13. Reinstall the top cover (see "Replacing the top cover" on page 118).
Step 14. Slide the server into the rack.
Step 15. Reconnect the power cords and any cables that you removed.
Step 16. Turn on the peripheral devices and the server.
Replacing an adapter in PCI expansion slot 4 or slot 5
Use this section to replace an adapter in PCI expansion slot 4 or slot 5.
To replace an adapter, complete the following steps:
Step 1. Read the safety information that begins on "Safety" on page v and "Removing and replacing
guidelines" on page 101.
Step 2. Turn off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect the power cords and all external cables.
Step 3. Remove the server top cover (see "Removing the top cover" on page 116).
Step 4. 1 Rotate the bracket to the open position.
Step 5. Slide the expansion-slot cover out of the server.
Step 6. 2 Align the adapter with the PCI connector on the system board and press the adapter firmly
into the PCI connector on the system board.
