Add-on Profiles
Configure the Logix Sercos
Interface Module
To select the IPIM module in RSLogix 5000 software, version 20, you must load
an Add-on Profile from www.ab.com.
To navigate to the Add-on Profiles, follow this path:
• Technical Support
• Software Updates, Firmware and Other Downloads
• RSLogix 5000 I/O Modules Add-On-Profiles
You will be required to establish a login and provide the serial number of your
drive to access the download file.
This procedure assumes that you have wired your Kinetix drive system and have
configured the communication rate and optical power switches.
For help using RSLogix 5000 software as it applies to configuring the
ControlLogix, CompactLogix, or SoftLogix sercos modules, refer to
Resources
on
page
7.
IMPORTANT
RSLogix 5000 software, version 20.00 or later, is required.
Configure the Logix Controller
Follow these steps to configure the Logix controller.
1. Apply power to your Logix chassis containing the sercos interface module/
PCI card and open your RSLogix 5000 software.
2. From the File menu, choose New.
The New Controller dialog box opens.
3. Configure the new controller.
