BRAKE PAD REPLACEMENT

• Loosen the brake pad mounting pin bolts 1.
• Remove the brake caliper 2 by removing the brake caliper
mounting bolts.
• Remove the brake pad mounting pin bolts 1 and brake pads
3 .

* Do not operate the brake lever after brake pad
removal.
* Replace the brake pad as a set, otherwise braking
performance will be adversely affected.
• Install the new brake pads.
• Temporarily tighten the brake pad mounting pin bolts 1.
• Tighten the brake caliper mounting bolts 2 and brake pad
mounting pin bolts 1 to the specified torque.
" Brake caliper mounting bolt: 25.5 N·m (2.55 kgf-m)
Brake pad mounting pin bolt: 17.5 N·m (1.75 kgf-m)
NOTE:
After replacing the brake pads, pump the brake lever a few times
to check for proper brake operation and then check the brake
fluid level.

CALIPER REMOVAL

• Loosen the brake pad mounting pin bolts. ($Above)
• Remove the brake hose union bolt 1.
NOTE:
Place a rag underneath the brake hose union bolt on the brake
caliper to catch any spilt brake fluid.

Immediately wipe off any brake fluid contacting any
part of the motorcycle. The brake fluid reacts chemi-
cally with paint, plastics, rubber materials, etc., and
will damage them severely.
• Remove the brake caliper 2.
