• Remove the washer 2.
• Remove the steering stem nut 3 with the special tool.
NOTE:
Hold the steering stem by hand to prevent it from falling.

• Remove the dust cover 4.
• Remove the upper bearing inner race 5.
• Remove the upper and lower steel balls.
Upper: 22 pcs.
Lower: 27 pcs.
INSPECTION AND DISASSEMBLY
Inspect the removed parts for the following abnormalities.
* Handlebars distortion
* Race wear and damage
* Bearing wear or damage
* Abnormal noise of bearing
If any abnormal points are found, replace defective parts with
new ones.
