DRIVE CHAIN

Inspect initially at 1 000 km (5 months) and every
4 000 km (20 months) thereafter.
Clean and lubricate every 1 000 km.
Visually inspect the drive chain for the possible defects listed
below.
* Loose pins
* Damaged rollers
* Rusted links
If any defects are found, the drive chain must be replaced.
NOTE:
When replacing the drive chain, replace the drive chain and
sprockets as a set.

The standard drive chain is D.I.D 428. SUZUKI recom-
mends to use this standard drive chain as a replace-
ment.
CHECKING AND ADJUSTING
• Remove the chain case by loosening four bolts 1 and screw
2.
• Loosen the rear axle nut 3.
• Tense the drive chain fully by turning both chain adjuster nuts
4.
* Excessive wear
* Improper chain adjustment
* Kinked or binding links
