Attach shift lever q and pinion shaft ass'y w to center

bracket ass'y e, and then, put outer gear r and planetary
gear t.
・Align center bracket ass'y and outer gear with
bolt through holes, and attach to location
shown.
・Put outer gear with chamfered side facing
bracket.
・Apply TEF grease or molybdenum grease to
pinion gear and outer gear.
Attach center plate A y to center bracket.

Align center place A with bolt through holes, and
attach to location shown.
Attach armature u to brush holder i, and install thrust

washer A o to groove of shaft.
When attaching armature to bush holder, be
careful not to give flaw and damage to
commutator and brushes.
Insert commutator while pushing each brush
outward.
8. Attach armature ass'y to starter motor rear cover, and
secure with screws (M4, 2 pcs.).
9. Attach magneto switch ass'y, and secure by tightening bolts
(M6, 2 pcs.) to specified torque.
Attach plunger p, torsion spring a, shift lever s
and dust cover d of magneto switch by referring
to illustration.
Magneto switch mounting bolt:
7 N · m (5 lb · ft) [0.7 kgf · m]
10. Attach other parts by reversing disassembling procedure.
Starter motor through bolt:
6 N · m (4 lb · ft) [0.6 kgf · m]
