Drawer feed copying with the [START] button

1) Pressing the [START] button
o "READY" changes to "COPYING".
o The exposure lamp (EXP) is turned ON.
o The scan motor (M1) is turned ON. o Carriage-1 and -2 move forward.
o The polygonal motor (M2) rotates at a high speed (the e-STUDIO850 is always at a high speed).
o Each motor is turned ON. o The drum, transfer belt, fuser unit and developer unit rotate.
o The main charger, developer bias and discharge LED (ERS) are turned ON. The fans rotate at a
high speed.
2) Drawer paper feeding
o Each motor is turned ON. The drum, transfer belt, fuser unit and developer unit rotate.
o The main charger, developer bias and discharge LED (ERS) are turned ON. The fans rotate at a
high speed.
o The feed motor (M20), drawer feed clutch (CLT6, 8, 10, 12) and drawer transport clutch (CLT5, 7,
9, 11) are turned ON.
o The pickup roller, feed roller and transport roller start to rotate.

The paper reaches the transport roller.
-
The drawer transport sensor (S33, 39, 45, 51) is turned ON.
o The drawer feed clutch (CLT6, 8, 10, 12) and drawer transport clutch (CLT5, 7, 9, 11) are turned
OFF after a certain period of time.

The paper reaches the intermediate transfer roller.
-
The paper reaches the registration roller.
-
The registration sensor (S18) is turned ON and aligning is performed.
3) Carriage operation:
Scan motor (M1) ON
o The exposure lamp (EXP) is turned ON. o White shading compensation is performed.
o The scan motor (M1) is turned ON. o Carriage-1 and -2 move forward.
4) Within a certain time after carriage operation:
o The registration motor (M16) is turned ON. o The paper is transported to the transfer area.
o The copy counter operates.
5) Within a certain time after the registration motor (M16) is turned ON, the transfer belt bias is turned
ON.
6) Completion of scanning
o The scan motor (M1) is turned OFF.
o The exposure lamp (EXP) is turned OFF.
o The registration motor (M16) is turned OFF (after the trailing edge of the paper passes the regis-
tration roller).
