Virtualization
To configure a virtual device and commit it to the fabric configuration, follow these steps:

Primary Secondary
Purpose
Enters configuration mode.
Enables the SDV feature.
Note
Configures a virtual device alias name (vdev1).
Enters SDV manager configuration submode.
Maps primary virtual device to the pWWN of real
devices.
Maps secondary virtual device to pWWN of a real
device.
Exits SDV manager configuration submode.
Commits the VSAN configuration to the fabric.
Verifies that the virtualized device is registered in
the device alias database.
If the primary device is online, verifies that the
virtual device appears in the name server database
and has the correct FC4 type (Fibre Channel layer
4).

command will fail.
