Connecting to a Personal Computer

Connect a personal computer and the Sensor Controller through an Ethernet cable to perform sensor settings
and monitoring from Sysmac Studio.

Insert one end of the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet
connector of the controller.

Insert another end of the Ethernet cable into the
Ethernet connector of the external device.
Important
Prepare commercially available Ethernet cable satisfying the following requirements:
• Category 5e or more, 30 m or less
• RJ45 connector (8-pin modular jack)
• For direct connection: Select cross cable.
• For connection through a network hub: Select straight cable.
After connecting an Ethernet cable between the Sensor Controller and a personal computer, set the IP address which
is different from the Network address of Sensor Controller.
Note
By default, the Sensor Controller has an IP address of 192.168.250.50 and a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0. In this
case, the network address is 192.168.250.0 and so specify 192.168.250. ** Default IP address of Sensor Controller
is 192.168.250.50 and sub mask is 255.255.255.0. Since the network address is 192.168.250.0, specify
192.168.250.** (**=2 to 254 except 50.) to the IP address of your PC. for the IP address of the personal computer.
