Test 5 - Mixer Linearity (IF)
Test 5 - Mixer Linearity (IF)
Overview
This functional test measures the downconverter's mixer linearity at an input
level of –5 dBm. It does this by measuring an amplitude modulated signal at
the IF output at two carrier levels. Percent AM is measured at each level with
a measuring receiver. Mixer linearity is read from a table by looking up the
difference between the two AM percentage readings.
This test is based on a mixer compression measurement technique described
in Hewlett-Packard Application Note 286-2.
Test Limit
Mixer linearity: ............................................ ±0.4 dB, mixer input ≤ –5 dBm
