Select the position display
Application
In the Manual Operation mode and the Program Run, Full
Sequence and Program Run, Single Block modes of operation, you
can select the type of coordinates to be displayed:
The figure on the right shows the different tool positions
Initial position
Target position of the tool
Workpiece datum
Machine datum
The TNC position displays can show the following coordinates:
Function
Nominal position: the value presently
commanded by the TNC
Actual position; current tool position
Reference position; the actual position relative
to the machine datum
Reference position; the nominal position
relative to the machine datum
Servo lag; difference between nominal and
actual positions (following error)
Distance remaining to the programmed
position in the input system; difference
between actual and target positions
Distance remaining to the programmed
position with reference to the machine datum;
difference between reference and target
positions
Traverses that were carried out with
handwheel superimpositioning (M118)
With the MOD function Position display 1, you can select the
position display in the status display.
With the MOD function Position display 2, you can select the
position display in the additional status display.
