Pinpoint Tests
Test
1
Check ca ble and terminal integ rity:
- ABS ECM con nector pin 3 and ABS ECM
connector pin 1 2
2 Check ca ble for short circuit:
- ABS ECM con nector pin 1 2 and G round
3 Disconnect the front wheel speed sensor O K
connector. Check ca ble for short ci rcuit:
Wheel speed sensor
(motorcycle harness side) and G round
4 Check ca ble for short circuit:
- ABS ECM con nector pin 3 and G round
5 Check ca ble for short circuit:
- Wheel speed sensor connector pin
(motorcycle harness side) a n d G round
6 Check ca ble conti n uity:
- ABS ECM connector pin 1 2 and Wheel
speed sensor con nector pin 2 (motorcycle
harness side>
7 Check cable conti n uity:
- ABS ECM connector pin 3 and Wheel
speed sensor connector pin 1 <motorcycle
harness side)
8 Reconnect the front wheel speed sensor
connector. Check the wheel speed sensor
operation:
- Connect a suita ble
between 4 . 5 V and 1 6 v between ABS ECM
connector pin 1 2 <positive>
(negative), and measure
consumption of the wheel speed sensor
9 Reconnect ABS ECM harness, clea r fa ult O K
code and test ABS to verify fault clea red

Ensure ABS ECM connector is secure.
Ensure wheel speed sensor connector
is secure.
Disconnect ABS ECM connector and
proceed to pinpoint test 1 :-

Proceed to test 3
Replace the wheel speed sensor, proceed to
test 9
Locate and rectify
proceed to test 9
Proceed to test 6
Proceed to test 5
Replace the wheel speed sensor, proceed to
test 9
Locate and rectify
proceed to test 9
Proceed to test 7
and rectify
Locate
proceed to test 9

Locate and rectify
