Rear Wheel Sensor Open Circuit/Short Circuit

Pinpoint Tests
Test
1
Check ca ble and terminal integ rity:
- ABS ECM con nector pin 2 and ABS ECM
connector pin 1 8

Check ca ble for short circu it:
- ABS ECM con nector pin 2 and G round
3 Disconnect the front wheel speed sensor O K
connector. Check ca ble for short ci rcuit:
- Wheel speed sensor connector pin
(motorcycle harness side) and G round
4 Check ca ble for short circuit:
- ABS ECM con nector pin 1 8 and Ground
5 Check ca ble for short circuit:
- Wheel speed sensor connector pin
<motorcycle harness side) and G round
6 Check ca ble continu ity:
- ABS ECM connector pin 2 and Wheel
speed sensor con nector pin 2 (motorcycle
harness side)
7 Check ca ble conti n uity:
- ABS ECM con nector pin 1 8 and Wheel
speed sensor con nector pin 1 <motorcycle
harness side)
8 Reconnect the front wheel speed sensor
connector. Check the wheel speed sensor
operation:
- Connect a
suita ble
between 4.5 V and 1 6 v between ABS ECM
connector pin 2 <positive)
(negative),
and measure
consum ption of the wheel speed sensor
9 Reconnect ABS ECM ha rness, clea r fault
code and test ABS to verify fault cleared

Ensure wheel speed sensor connector
is secure.
Disconnect ABS ECM con nector and
proceed to pinpoint test 1 :-

Replace the wheel speed sensor, proceed to
test 9
Locate and wiri n g
rectify
proceed to test 9

Locate and rectify wiring
proceed to test 9
Proceed to test 7
Locate and rectify wiring
proceed to test 9
