Front Discs

Before starting work, ensure the motorcycle is stabilised
and adequately supported. This will help prevent it from
falling and causing injury to the operator or damage to
the motorcycle.

Wear

Replace any brake disc if worn beyond the service
limit or that exceeds the disc run-out limit.

Measure disc run-out using a n accurate dial gauge
mou nted on a surface plate.

Removal

Do not renew front brake discs individually. Discs must
always be renewed in pairs even if one of a pair is
serviceable.
A dangerous riding condition leading to an accident
could result if this warning is ignored.

Remove the front wheel <see page
Support the wheel on blocks as illustrated to avoid

damage to the wheel centre.

Remove a n d discard the bolts.
4.
Detach the disc. On ABS models, collect the ABS
pulser ring from the left hand disc.
5.
Repeat for the other d isc.
