Headlight Adiustment
Note:
•
The headlight can be adjusted by means of
vertical and horizontal adjustment screws
located on the real;' of the headlight.
1.
Horizontal adjustment screw
2. Vertical adjustment screw
3. Headlight adjuster lever for loaded conditions
1 . Switch t h e headlight dipped beam o n .
2. Turn the vertical adjustment screw on the headlighf
clockwise to raise the bea m or anti-clockwise to lower
the beam.
3. Turn the horizontal adjustment screw clockwise to
move the beam to the right or anti-clockwise to
move the bea m to the left.
4. Switch the headlights off when the bea m settings a re
satisfactory.
Adjust road speed tq suit the visibility and weather
conditions i n which the m otorcycle is being operated.
Ensu re that the beam is adjusted to illumi nate the road
surface sufficiently far ahead without dazzl ing oncoming
traffic. An incorrectly adjusted headlight may impair
visibility ca using a n accident.
Never attem pt to adjust a headlight beam when the
motorcycle is i n motion.
Any attem pt to adjust a headlight bea m when the
motorcycle is i n m otion may result i n loss of contro l and
an accident.

Headlight Bulb Replacement

Each headlight bulb can be replaced as fol lows :
The bulb becomes hot d u ring
sufficient time for the bulb to cool before handling.
Avoid touch ing the g lass part of the bulb. If the g lass is
touched o r gets d irty, clea n with alcohol before re-use.
Do not reconnect the battery until the assembly process
has been com pleted . Prematu re battery reconnection
could result i n ign ition of the battery gases ca using risk
of injury.
1 . Remove t h e rider's seat <see p a g e 16-13).
Disconnect the battery, negative (black> lead first.

3 . Remove the bulb cover from the b u l b t o be replaced
by rotating it a nti-clockwise.
4. Disconnect the m ulti-plug from the b u l b reta iner.
5 .
Detach t h e bulb retainer from t h e h o o k o n the
headlight assembly and rotate it away from the bulb
as shown.
6. Remove the bulb from the bulb retainer.

Installation

1.
Installation is the reverse of removal, noting the
following:

When reconnecting the battery, connect the
positive (red) lead first.
