Fit the wheel bearings and centre sleeve using the
method described opposite.
1. Tool T38800 5 3
2.
Fit a new circlip.
3.
Lubricate and fit new seals to the front wheel.
Lubricate the seal's kn ife-edge with g rease to N LG I 2
specificatio n <we recom mend Mobil H P2 2 2).
4.
Fit the front wheel <see page 15- 1 1 }.

Rear Wheel Bearings

Removal

1 .
Remove t h e rear wheel <see page 15- 12).
Do not allow the wheel to rest on the bra ke disc, as this
may damage the disc. Support the wheel on wooden
blocks, equally spaced a round the rim, such that the
bra ke d isc is raised above the g rou nd.

Place the wheel on wooden

Remove and discard t h e seals and t h e bearing circlip.

Always wear eye, hand and face protection when using
a hammer and drift. Use of a hammer a n d d rift can
cause bea rings to frag ment.
bea ring could cause eye and soft tissue injuries if
suitable protective apparel is not worn.
To prevent wheel damage and to aid bearing removal,
always a pply force evenly on both sides of the bearing
to prevent it from
'tipping'
Application of uneven force will lead to d ifficu lty i n
removin g t h e bearing and t o a damaged wheel.
4.
Using a suitable pin punch, through the centre of the
wheel, drift out the wheel bea rings. Col lect the
centre sleeve.
