Tunneling

Tunneling is supported on Dell Networking OS.
ip unnumbered
Configure a tunnel interface to operate without a unique IPv4 address and specify the interface from
which the tunnel borrows its address.
Z9500
Syntax
ip unnumbered {interface-type slot/port}
To set the tunnel back to default logical address use the no ip unnumbered
command. If the tunnel was previously operational, the tunnel interface remains
operationally down until you also configure the tunnel IPv6 address.

Usage
The ip unnumbered command fails in two conditions:
Information
To ping an IP-unnumbered tunnel, the logical address route information must be
present at both the source and destination ends of the tunnel.
Tunneling
Enter the interface type, followed by a slot and port number.

Introduced on the S4810, S4820T, S6000 and Z9000.
Introduced on the S6000 and Z9000.
If the logical IP address is configured.
If the tunnel mode is IPv6IP (where an IP address over a tunnel interface is not
supported).
