36) Disassembly of Recoil Starter
1. Remove bolts, and then, remove recoil starter.
Put rope 1 in the groove a of reel 2 and gently turn reel

clockwise to release tension of starter spring.
Wear the glove to protect your hands.
For replacing starter rope 1, do not remove reel
and can replace also. Loosen the tension spring,
and then replacing rope.
Remove starter shaft bolt 3, and then, remove all of

The starter spring 4 can pop out suddenly;
do not nearby your face.
Remove starter spring 4.

Tap starter case with plastic hammer and remove starter
spring.
37) Inspection of Recoil Starter
1. Check ratchet, starter lock and all springs. Replace if any
deformation, wear or damage is found.
2. Check reel and starter case. Replace if any crack or damage
is found.
3. Check starter rope. Replace if any wear, unraveling or
damage is found.
