Checking gearbox oil

Special tools and workshop equipment required
♦ Torque wrench -V.A.G 1331-
♦ Multi-point bit -3357-
Gearbox oil specification ⇒ Electronic parts catalogue „ETKA" .
– Remove noise insulation ⇒ General body repairs, exterior;
Rep. gr. 50 ; Noise insulation .
– To check gear oil, remove oil plug -arrow-.
Oil level is correct when gearbox is filled to lower edge of filler
hole.
– Screw in plug -arrow- with new seal.
– Tighten bolt -arrow- to specified torque
When filling with oil, note the following:
– Remove oil plug -arrow-.
– Fill with gear oil to lower edge of filler hole.
– Screw in plug -arrow- with new seal.
– Tighten bolt -arrow- to specified torque
– Install noise insulation ⇒ General body repairs, exterior; Rep.
gr. 50 ; Noise insulation .
