2-5 DOCTOR GAP ADJUSTMENT
ADJUSTMENT STANDARD: 0.72 mm (0.028")
NOTE: This adjustment is done only when the doctor blade has been
removed or replaced.
1. Remove the upper brush seal cover [A] (2 screws).
2. With the development roller facing upwards, turn the roller sleeve in the
opposite direction to normal operation by using the development roller
gear [B], until the roller is free from developer.
3. Loosen the doctor plate [C] (4 screws) and clean the development roller
[D]
4. Insert the Doctor Gap Gauges [E] (P/N A01 79505) near both ends of the
development roller between the doctor blade.
NOTE: Make sure the development roller, doctor blade gauges and doctor
blade plate are free from developer.
5. Press the doctor blade plate and tighten the screws.
6. Pull out the doctor blade gauges.
Do not scratch the development sleeve with the
3-18
gauges.
