General Commands

This chapter details general commands that apply to the CLI.

configure
Activates global configuration mode

Returns to previous configuration mode
exit
Returns to the previous configuration mode, or exits the
CLI
cli-session-timeout
Sets a timeout for CLI and Telnet sessions
ping
Sends ICMP echo request packets to another node on the
network
reset
Restarts the system
show line
Shows the configuration settings for the console port
This command activates Global Configuration mode. You must enter this mode to
modify most of the settings on the access point. You must also enter Global
Configuration mode prior to enabling the context modes for Interface
Configuration. See
"Using the Command Line Interface" on page
