When designating an area with a marker, make sure
to designate it approximately

Acceptable originals
With Marker Editing, use black-and-white originals. If color originals are
used, the editing may not be performed correctly.
Marks drawn on the original can not be erased. To preserve the original,
make a black single-color copy and then use the markers on that.
Highlight Markers
For best result, use Highlight Markers (red, blue, green).
One-point Designation
for each highlight marker color. By using all three colors, a maximum of
six functions can be designated in combination.
If more than one marker designation has been made within the same
border, the priority assigned by the copier to the designations is as
follows:
1. Green One-point Designation
2. Blue One-point Designation
3. Red One-point Designation
4. Green Border Designation
5. Blue Encircled Designation
6. Red Encircled Designation
