Character Composition (Combining Characters from a
Black-and-White Original with a Color Original)
This function inserts a text original into a color original. There are basically two Character Composition modes: Superimpose and
Window. Using these modes, you can also add color or contours to text. When performing Multiple Editing or Shift Text, set that
mode first before selecting either Superimpose or Window. There are four types of Character Composition:
Superimpose:
Text is superimposed in reverse on a color original.
Window:
A specified area containing text is inserted in a color original in its entirety. The portion of the area aside from
the text is called a Window. The color of the text and the window can be set as desired.
Multiple Editing: Select this mode to set both Superimpose and Window, or to set different types of text editing, at the same
time for one original in one operation.
Shift Text:
Shifts the text image before combining it with the color original. This can be set for both Superimpose and for
Window.
The text image can be combined at a resolution of 400 dpi.
This function can not be used in combination with a Non-rectangular Area Designation.
Only one area can be designated for Framing or Blanking with Character Composition.
Original Recognition function can not work when Character Composition mode is set.
Superimpose (see p. 4-12)
Window (see p. 4-16)
If Character Composition mode is set, Text Editing in Image Creation can not be used.
