Installing a Brocade NetIron XMR 32000 router in a rack

This section describes how to install a Brocade NetIron XMR 32000 router in a rack.
Keep the following precautions in mind when mounting a Brocade NetIron XMR 32000 router in a
rack:
DANGER
Make sure the rack or cabinet housing the router is adequately secured to prevent it from
becoming unstable or falling over.
Because of the weight of a fully loaded Brocade NetIron XMR 32000 router, it is recommended that
you mount the router in a rack before installing the modules and AC power supplies.

Follow these steps to install a Brocade NetIron XMR 32000 router in a rack.

For better grounding of the router to the rack, attach the router using star washers. You can also use
star washers with single hole grounding lugs to prevent rotation of the lug.

You can install one Brocade NetIron XMR 32000 router in a standard 19-inch (EIA310-D) rack.
YOu can install your device in either a front-mount configuration or a mid-mount configuration
using the factory-installed mounting brackets. For a mid-mount configuration, simply remove
the mounting brackets from the front edges of the device and re-attach them to the center
sides of the device using the pre-drilled holes.
You must provide eight standard #12-24 pan-head screws to secure the router in the rack.
Before performing this task, you should have an assembled rack and a #2 Phillips screwdriver.
An empty Brocade NetIron XMR 32000 chassis weighs approximately 325 lbs. You must use a
mechanical device (such as a material lift or work positioner), and four people are required to
