OTHER FUNCTIONS

■ S-meter squelch

The ID-1 has an S-meter squelch. The S-meter squelch al-
lows you to set a mnmum sgnal level needed to open the
squelch.
➥ Set [SQL] clockwse past the 12 o'clock poston n the ap-
plcaton (man screen) to actvate the S-meter squelch.
• S-meter squelch level can be adjusted between 12 o'clock and
fully clockwse poston.
• When settng the squelch from the RC-24, a level greater than
'19' actvates the squelch attenuator.
• The S/RF meter shows the set level wth the reversed ndca-
ton.
Shows the set level.
NOTE: The squelch attenuator functons even when the
montor functon s n use. Thus set the [SQL] wthn 10 to
12 o'clock poston (12 to 19 level when settng wth the
RC-24) s recommended when usng the montor functon.

■ AFC function
The AFC (Automatc Frequency Control) functon tunes the
dsplayed frequency automatcally when an off-set frequency
s receved. It actvates n FM and Dgtal voce modes only.
➥ Clck [AFC] n the applcaton (man screen); or push
[AFC• •0] on the RC-24 to turn the AFC functon ON
and OFF.
• "AFC" appears when the functon ON.
[AFC• •0]
NOTE: The AFC functon may not tune the sgnal properly
when a weak sgnal s receved and/or strong nearby sg-
nals are receved.
