spanning-tree link-type

The spanning-tree link-type Interface Configuration mode command overrides the default link-
type setting determined by the duplex mode of the port and enables Rapid Spanning Tree
Protocol (RSTP) transitions to the forwarding state. To return to the default configuration, use
the no form of this command.
Syntax
spanning-tree link-type {point-to-point | shared}
no spanning-tree link-type
point-to-point —Indicates that the port link type is point-to-point.
shared — Indicates that the port link type is shared.
Default Configuration
The device derives the port link type from the duplex mode. A full-duplex port is considered a
point-to-point link and a half-duplex port is considered a shared link.

There are no user guidelines for this command.
Example
The following example enables shared spanning-tree on Ethernet port 1/e5
Console(config)# interface ethernet 1/e15
Console(config-if)# spanning-tree link-type shared

spanning-tree pathcost method

The spanning-tree pathcost method Global Configuration mode command sets the default
path cost method. To return to the default configuration, use the no form of this command.
Syntax
spanning-tree pathcost method {long | short}
no spanning-tree pathcost method
long — Specifies port path costs with a range of 1-200,000,000 .
short — Specifies port path costs with a range of 0-65,535.
