User Guidelines

Use this command to generate RSA key pairs Secure Copy.
•
RSA keys are generated in pairs: one public RSA key and one private RSA key. If the device
already has Slogin RSA keys, a warning and prompt to replace the existing keys with new keys
are displayed.
•
This command is not saved in the device configuration; however, the keys generated by this
command are saved in the private configuration, which is never displayed to the user or
backed up on another device.
•
This command may take a considerable period of time to execute.
Example
This example generates RSA key pairs for secure login to remote access servers.
Console# config
Console(config)# crypto slogin key generate rsa
show crypto slogin key mypubkey
The show crypto slogin key mypubkey Privileged EXEC mode command displays the secure
login public keys of the device.
Syntax
show crypto slogin key mypubkey [rsa | dsa]
•
rsa — Indicates the RSA key.
•
dsa — Indicates the DSA key.
