Section 5 PWRcell CTs
– See
Figure
5-4. If interconnection is achieved
using a line side or supply side tap, place CTs
upstream (the meter side) of the tap.

3. Placement of CTs for Load Capture
•
Verify CTs are placed such that they capture all
house loads. Those loads that are left out of the
capture will not be seen as loads to be covered by
the system.
– If CTs are placed inside of a combiner box on the
line-side of the interconnection breaker, house
loads will not be captured.
– If CTs are placed in an external transfer switch
fed by a two pole breaker off of the main service
panel, where there are additional house loads
coming off of the main service panel, those addi-
tional house loads will not be captured.
4. CTs Wiring
•
See
5-5. Ensure CTs are wired in the
Figure
proper order to the RJ45 breakout adapter.
– Use the yellow lead for CTx+
– Use the green lead for CTx-
•
Perform a tug-test on each CT lead after terminat-
ing to the breakout adapter.

plugged into one of the silver, double-stacked
CAT5 ports below the Power Core.
– It does not matter which port is used in the silver
double-stacked terminal block.
•
Set inverter setting 'GridParInvrtrs' to a value of '2'.

– Reference the inverter wiring compartment cover
for additional diagram and labeling.
•
Verify the crimped male RJ45 ends on the field
installed CAT5 cable are properly terminated, using
a data tester.
– CAT5 wires often wind up out of position or fail to
make contact with the metallic pins inside the
RJ45 male ends.
– Ensure both RJ45 ends are terminated with the

same order of pairs so that the signal "passes."
– Remake as necessary.
– Refer to
ing.
NOTE: Ethernet cables cannot be installed within the
same raceways as the power conductors and should
always be installed independently from all power wiring.

5. CTs on multi-inverter systems
•
Ensure CTs are connected to the double-stacked
RJ45 CT port of the first inverter.
•
Ensure a second CAT5 cable is run from the
remaining port of the first inverter to the double-
stacked port of the second inverter.
•
Verify additional CAT5 male ends are properly ter-
minated.
•
Ensure the setting, 'GridParInvrtrs' is set to a value
of '2' on both inverters so that both units share the
load correctly.
•
Ensure calibration at the first inverter was success-
ful; then connect daisy chain CAT5 to the second
inverter.
