Identification and maintenance data I&M
Properties
Identification data (I data): Information about the module that is normally printed on the
enclosure of the module. I data is read-only.
Maintenance data (M data): System-specific information such as the installation location and
date. M data is generated during configuration and written to the module.
Identification and maintenance data (I&M) is information stored in a module that supports you

• Troubleshooting in a system
• Checking the system configuration
• Locating hardware changes in a system
Reading and writing the identification and maintenance data with STEP 7
• PROFINET connection via IM 152-1PN:
In HW Config, the I&M are displayed in the "Module status - IM 152-1PN" and "Properties -
IM-152-1PN" tabs.
