Add, Exchange, or Uninstall Inventory
When you install or uninstall inventory, you move items from your resource pool to the customer pool, and vice versa.
1.
Click an activity on your home page.
The Activity Details page displays.
2.
Click Inventory.
The Inventory list page displays.
3.
Click the inventory that you want to add, exchange, or uninstall to display its serial number, and then click the
corresponding number.
The Inventory details page displays.
Note: Inventory actions generally only appear after an activity has been started.
4.
Click Add, Exchange, or Deinstall.
If this is an exchange, the Exchange inventories page displays. The page contains a list of inventory items and
their associated serial numbers.
5.
Click the serial number of the inventory that you want to replace.
The page updates to show the inventory installed at the customer's location, as well as the inventory in the
resource pool that you are carrying in your vehicle.
Note: If you make a mistake, you can undo an install or deinstall. Click on the serial number of the device and
perform the opposite action. For example, click Deinstall if you installed a device in error.
6.
Enter the quantity of the inventory you are adding, installing, or deinstalling in the Quantity field.
If this is non-serialized inventory and you enter a value that exceeds the quantity precision that's configured,
then the precision is rounded off. For example: Quantity precision for an Inventory type = 2. You enter 1.4552;
this is rounded off to 1.46. In general, the half-up rounding rule is applied; that is, 0.5 becomes 1 and 0.4
becomes 0. If you enter extra zeros after the decimal point, then all trailing zeros are trimmed and not displayed
in the inventory pool. If you try to install more non-serialized inventory than you have in the pool, then the
message, 'The quantity 6.5 exceeded your available quantity of 5. Are you sure you want to proceed?' is
displayed.
7.
Click Submit.
Receive Inventory
There are cases when a technician receives inventory from another technician or gets it from a warehouse.
When an inventory item that you have ordered arrives, you must receive it and add it to your resource pool. Only then,
you will be able to add it to an activity.
1.
Go to your Dashboard and click Inventory.
The Inventory list page appears.
2.
Click Add to resource.
