Measurement

This chapter describes measurements with the LaserDiagnosticsSoftware LDS. For a detailed description of
the software installation, file management and evaluation of the measured data, refer to the separate opera-
ting manual LaserDiagnosticsSoftware LDS.
9.1

Warning messages

DANGER
Serious eye or skin injury due to laser radiation
During the measurement the laser beam is directed at the device. This produces scattered
or directed reflection of the laser beam (laser class 4). The reflected beam is usually not
visible.
X Wear safety goggles adapted to the power, power density, laser wavelength and operating
mode of the laser beam source in use.
X Wear suitable protective clothing or protective gloves if necessary.
X Protect yourself against laser radiation by means of separating devices (e.g. suitable shiel-
ding walls).
CAUTION
Crushing hazard
The camera housing of the device can be moved along the z-axis.
X Never reach into the traversing range of the camera housing.
NOTICE
Damaging / destroying the device
Obstacles in the traversing range of the device can lead to collisions and damage the de-
vice.
X Always keep the traversing range of the device free of obstacles (cutting nozzles, pressure
rollers, etc.).
NOTICE
Damaging / destroying the device
Contamination and fingerprints on the protective window can lead to damage or shattering
or splintering of the protective window during measurement.
X Do not touch the protective window.
X Regularly check the condition of the protective window and exchange it in case of pollution
(see chapter 11.4, „Exchange wear parts", on page 90).
X Only operate the device with a clean protective window.
