Appendix B: Using a PLM for power measurement

The PowerLossMonitor PLM is a system that determines power losses within water-cooled optical systems.
The PLM measures the flow rate as well as the temperature increase of the cooling water between inlet and
outlet. Based on this data, the absorbed power is calculated.

The PowerLossMonitor PLM measures the laser power absorbed within the water-cooled absorbers of the
MSM+ HB. As the PLM is calibrated along with the MSM+HB including all connecting hoses, using the pro-
vided hose during measurement is mendatory.
